Born 1861 in North Bloomfield, N.Y. Moved to Colo. in 1865. Graduated from West Point Military Academy in 1884. Resigned his commission in 1890. Received a degree in electrical engineering form Colorado School of Mines (1895.) Returned to military duty during the Spanish-American War. Served as Colonel, First Regiment, Colorado Infantry in the Philippines. Promoted to Brigadier General. Recommended for Brevet Major General for gallant and meritorious services. Discharged in 1900.
